Redondo Beach Lobster Festival Is Even Bigger This Year
Redondo Beach, Calif. (ContentDesk) July 27, 2005 -- Mark your calendar for the 10th Annual Original Redondo Beach Festival, September 23rd, 24th and 25th 2005 in celebration of the divine red crustacean with the hefty claws. Hosted by the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, this up market event appeals to the whole family, with attractions and events that include carnival rides for children, a delectable food menu and a line up of popular bands. And, of course, Maine lobsters. Admission is $15 for adults, and $5 for kids 6-12 years of age. Youngsters under 6 years are free. This year, the festival is offering two packages that offer savings of $15 over regular prices. Packages include guaranteed 1.25 lb. or 2.5lb meals, Festival T-shirt, and Festival admission. meals, which are prepared by Bristol Farms, can also be purchased separately.The three-day event also features Italian, Latin, Asian and other cuisine specialties from local South Bay restaurants.
Check out the giant dance floor, a special children's stage and Carnival rides. Performers will include such favorites as Hush, Stompy Jones, Benny & the Swamp, Jumpin Joz, Cayambe, Michael John and the Bottom Line, and Flambeau. Local artist vendors will also offer their wares. The Festival will be held at the Redondo Beach Seaside Lagoon, located in the Redondo Beach King Harbor at the corner of Harbor Drive and Beryl Street, just north of the Redondo Beach Pier. Hours are: Friday, 5 p.m.
to 11 p.m., Saturday, Noon to 11 p.m., Sunday, Noon to 9 p.m.The
